Lost or Damaged Package Liability Policy

Version 1.3 · Effective August 17, 2026

How Shipr covers the goods in a shipment against loss or damage — the tiered declared-value coverage and fees, what is excluded, and how to file a claim.

1. About this Policy

This Lost or Damaged Package Liability Policy explains the coverage that Shipr LLC ("Shipr," "we," "us," or "our") provides for the goods inside a shipment booked through the Shipr platform. It applies to Shippers and their authorized users who book deliveries, and it forms part of, and should be read together with, the Shipr Terms of Service and Driver Agreement.

This coverage is a contractual commitment from Shipr to reimburse eligible loss of, or damage to, the goods in a covered shipment up to the applicable limit. It is not an insurance product sold or underwritten by Shipr, and it does not make Shipr an insurer. Reimbursement is determined under the terms of this Policy.

This Policy covers the goods only. It does not cover third-party automobile liability, bodily injury, or property damage to anything other than the shipped goods. Those matters are addressed separately under the Driver Agreement and the insurance arrangements described there.

2. Declared Value

When you book a shipment, you declare its value. The declared value is your good-faith estimate of the replacement or fair market value of the goods being shipped, and it sets the basis for any coverage and any applicable insurance fee.

Coverage for a shipment equals the lesser of (a) the declared value you entered at booking and (b) the coverage cap for the applicable tier described in Section 3. In no event will reimbursement exceed the declared value, and in no event will it exceed the tier cap.

3. Coverage Tiers

Coverage is organized into tiers based on the declared value of the shipment. The baseline tier is included automatically at no cost. Higher tiers are available as a paid add-on at booking, and the highest declared values may require approval or are not yet eligible. The table below summarizes each tier.

Over $5,000Not eligible at launchOn our roadmap; handled case-by-case with underwriting.

To add coverage above the baseline, select Add Insurance and confirm the declared value at booking. For declared values from $500.01 to $5,000, coverage is not in effect until Shipr approves the request, and we may ask for photos of the goods or proof of proper packaging before pickup. Shipments with a declared value over $5,000 are not eligible for coverage at launch.

4. Filing a Claim

You must file a claim within seven (7) days of delivery, or — if the shipment is lost — within seven (7) days of the scheduled delivery date. Claims submitted after this window may be denied.

To file a claim, contact us at support@shiprsolutions.com and provide the following:

  • Proof of value — such as a receipt, invoice, or other documentation supporting the declared value of the goods;
  • A description of the loss or damage, including what was lost or how the goods were damaged;
  • Photos of the damaged goods and packaging where applicable; and
  • The shipment or order reference so we can locate the delivery record.

5. Exclusions

Coverage under this Policy does not apply to, and we will not reimburse, loss or damage arising from any of the following:

  • Prohibited items — anything that may not be shipped through the Platform, as described in the Terms of Service;
  • Improper or insufficient packaging that fails to protect the goods for ordinary transport;
  • Pre-existing damage — any damage that existed before the shipment was picked up; and
  • Acts of God and other events beyond reasonable control, such as severe weather, natural disasters, fire, or civil disturbance.

Misdeclaring the value or nature of a shipment, or shipping a prohibited item, voids coverage for that shipment in full. Always declare the accurate value and never ship prohibited items.

6. Investigation and Decisions

Before deciding a claim, Shipr reviews the available delivery data, which may include GPS location history, timestamps, driver logs, and proof-of-delivery records (such as photos and signatures). We may also request additional information from you or the assigned Driver.

We aim to reach a decision within 10 business days of receiving a complete claim with all required documentation. Complex claims, or claims requiring additional information, may take longer. We will notify you of our decision and, where a claim is approved, the reimbursement amount.

7. Insurance Fee

The added-insurance fee charged for coverage above the baseline tier funds the coverage commitment described in this Policy. The fee is retained by Shipr, is non-refundable once the shipment is booked, and is not part of, and does not contribute to, Driver compensation.

Paying the insurance fee does not guarantee that any particular claim will be approved. Reimbursement remains subject to the declared-value limits, exclusions, claim requirements, and review process described in this Policy.
